Blood Pressure screening is available upon request. No physician referral is necessary, however, they are often performed at the request of a physician to assist in monitoring the patient's hypertension. Individuals are welcome to come in at any time,and have their blood pressure checked.
TB SKIN TESTS
TB tests are performed upon the request of an individual, a referral from a physician's office, or by the request of a local employer. TB skin testing is performed and read by trained professionals. TB testing can be done on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during the normal clinic hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm. Two-step TB skin testing may be performed within 7-21 after the first TB test was given. A positive TB test does not necessarily mean a person has active TB. Any individual who has a positive TB test will meet with one of our clinic's trained professionals to review the results, and advise them of what their next step should be.
Rambo Memorial Health Center offers the following services to Muskingum County Residents at no charge There is a charge for some services to residents who do not reside in Muskingum County.
CHEST X-RAYS (WITH A PHYSICIAN'S ORDER)
Chest x-rays are performed upon the request of an individual's personal physician, or our Clinic's Medical Director. Individuals found to have possible lung problems are referred to their personal physician for care. Individuals with respiratory problems, who have no personal physician or are unable to pay for medical services, may receive treatment from our Clinic's Medical Director. (non-residents $50)
LATENT AND ACTIVE TB TESTING, TREATMENT AND MEDICATIONS
This service is available to individuals in the clinic daily, on a walk-in basis.
PULMONARY FUNCTION TESTS
Pulmonary Function Tests are performed upon the request of an individual's personal physician, our Clinic's Medical Director, or upon request of the patient. Individuals are counseled on the results and referred to their primary care physician for any additional care they may need.
INFLUENZA VACCINE (FLU SHOTS)Rambo Memorial Health Center provides influenza vaccine according to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), flu shots will be available when the vaccine arrives (usually in September of each year). Flu shots are given in the clinic on a daily basis from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M, T, W, & F. Special weekend hours are observed to assist those persons unable to visit the clinic during regular business hours (Call for those hours). Flu shots are $5 for Muskingum County residents, $20 for out of county residents.
FluMist is available to Muskingum County children ages 2 through 18 for $5. It is available to out of county residents and adults for $25.
The flu shot will be billed to certain Medicare and Medicaid plans, with which we participate. Otherwise, if you cannot afford the fee, we recommend you please take advantage of the services of a local pharmacy for your vaccination, as they participate with almost all providers.
We pariticpate with the following providers.

- Humana Medicare
- Medigold Medicare
- Molina Medicaid
- Paramount Medicaid
Special arrangements can be made by business and industry for on-site flu shots; providing enough of your staff are interested and requested time is available.
We also provide home-bound patients with in-home service. Please call to make arrangements.
PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINE (PNEUMONIA SHOTS)
Pneumonia shots are given daily at the clinic. Patients can be given 2 pneumonia shots in a lifetime, five to seven years apart. However, if a patient receives their first pneumonia shot after the age of 65, they do not require a second one. No pnysician's order is necessary. Pneumonia Vaccine is $75. Medicare patients may receive their shot at no cost to them if they have one of Medicare Insurance's we participate with, noted above.
Injections are performed upon the request of an individual's personal physician, our Clinic's Medical Director, or upon request of the patient with a doctor's order. Injections are free to patients who bring in their own prescription medicine.
VACCINES FOR CHILDREN (VFC)
We offer the following vaccines to children ages11-18 at no cost for children who meet one of the following criteria:
ADULT VACCINES (Charge is for both in county and out of county residents.)
- Have no heath insurance
- are enrolled in the Medicaid Program (including Medicaid HMOs)
Vaccinations offered include:
Tdap - Tetanus, diptheria, pertussis
Influenza - FluMist, a flu vaccine mist that is sprayed in the nose of healthy children
Rambo Memorial Health Clinic offers the following vaccines to adults:
Zostavax - Shingles vaccine does not require s a physician's order and pre-payment of $175 is required for the vaccine. There may be financial assistance for those who qualify.
Boostrix Tetanus, Diptheria, Acellular Pertusis (Tdap). Available for $38 and does not require a doctor' order.
Urinalysis screening is done during regular clinic hours and does not require a doctor's order. One of the clinic's professionals will review the test results with an individual, and forward the test results to their primary care physician.
at a cost of $25 for all patients. Calling ahead for an appointment is strongly encouraged. A 12-hour fasting period prior to testing is recommended to ensure accuracy of your testing. Cholesterol screening measures the following:
- Total Cholesterol
- HDL (good cholesterol)
- LDL (bad cholesterol)
- ALT/AST (liver function)
Our nursing staff will explain your test results and provide you with American Heart Association approved lists of foods to help bring your cholesterol numbers in line with current AMA recommendations. We will fax or mail your cholesterol results to your physician at your request.
COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL is provided by at a cost of $25 for all patients. This test does not require a doctor's order and we strongly encourage calling ahead to schedule an appointment. Testing includes results for electrolytes, kidney function, liver function and protein.
HEMOGLOBIN A1C SCREENING
Hemoglobin A1c testing is provided at a cost of $20 for all patients. Calling ahead for an appointment is strongly encouraged. Hemoglobin A1c screening monitors the average blood glucose levels over the last 3 months for those with a diagnosis of diabetes. It is an indicator of overall blood glucose control.Fasting is not necessary.
THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE (TSH) SCREENING
Thyroid stimulating hormone screening is a finger-stick test that indicates whether your thyroid gland is working correctly or not. TSH levels are raised in cases of primary hypothyroidism (low thyroid) and decreased in cases of hyperthyroidism (high thyroid). This test will help you determine if you need additional testing through your physician. No fasting is required. Screening is $15.
BLOOD GLUCOSE (BLOOD SUGAR) SCREENING
Blood Glucose Screening is provided by in the clinic during our regular business hours, on a walk-in basis.
A 2-4 hour fast is required to perform the blood sugar screening. There is NO CHARGE at this time for this service.
BLOOD GLUCOSE METERS
Rambo Memorial Health Center will provide glucometers at no cost to Muskingum County residents when available.
