Blood Pressure screening is available upon request. No physician referral is necessary, however, they are often performed at the request of a physician to assist in monitoring the patient's hypertension. Individuals are welcome to come in at any time,and have their blood pressure checked.
TB SKIN TESTS
TB tests are performed upon the request of an individual, a referral from a physician's office, or by the request of a local employer. TB skin testing is performed and read by trained professionals. TB testing can be done on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during the normal clinic hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm. Two-step TB skin testing may be performed within 7-21 after the first TB test was given. A positive TB test does not necessarily mean a person has active TB. Any individual who has a positive TB test will meet with one of our clinic's trained professionals to review the results, and advise them of what their next step should be.
Rambo Memorial Health Center offers the following services to Muskingum County Residents at no charge There is a charge for some services to residents who do not reside in Muskingum County.
CHEST X-RAYS (WITH A PHYSICIAN'S ORDER)
Chest x-rays are performed upon the request of an individual's personal physician, or our Clinic's Medical Director. Individuals found to have possible lung problems are referred to their personal physician for care. Individuals with respiratory problems, who have no personal physician or are unable to pay for medical services, may receive treatment from our Clinic's Medical Director. (non-residents $50)
LATENT AND ACTIVE TB TESTING, TREATMENT AND MEDICATIONS
This service is available to individuals in the clinic daily, on a walk-in basis.
PULMONARY FUNCTION TESTS
Pulmonary Function Tests are performed upon the request of an individual's personal physician, our Clinic's Medical Director, or upon request of the patient. Individuals are counseled on the results and referred to their primary care physician for any additional care they may need. (non-residents $12)
INFLUENZA VACCINE (FLU SHOTS)Rambo Memorial Health Center provideS influenza vaccine according to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), flu shots will be available when the vaccine arrives (usually in August of each year). Flu shots are given in the clinic on a daily basis, during our regular business hours. Special evening and weekend hours are observed to assist those persons unable to visit the clinic during regular business hours (Call for those hours). Flu shots are $5 for Muskingum residents, $15 for out of county residents. The flu shot will be billed to certain Medicare and Medicaid plans, which we participate. For those individuals, their flu shot will be billed, otherwise, we recommend if you do not have one of the following plans, and cannot pay the fee, go to a local pharmacy for your vaccination.

Special arrangements can be made by business and industry for on-site flu shots; providing enough of your staff are interested and requested time is available.
PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINE (PNEUMONIA SHOTS)
Pneumonia shots are given daily at the clinic. Patients can be given 2 pneumonia shots in a lifetime, five to seven years apart. Those over 65 do not need a physician's order. Those under 65 will need a prescription from their physician. (non-residents $35)
Injections are performed upon the request of an individual's personal physician, our Clinic's Medical Director, or upon request of the patient. Individuals are counseled on the results and referred to their primary care physician. If the individual is unable to pay for medical services for respiratory related illness, they may receive treatment from the Clinic's Medical Director. (Injections are free to patients who bring in their own prescription medicine).
VACCINES FOR CHILDREN (VFC)
We offer the following vaccines to children ages11-18 at no cost for children who meet one of the following criteria:
- Have no heath insurance
- Is enrolled in the Medicaid Program (including Medicaid HMOs)
Vaccinations offered include:
Tdap - Tetanus, diptheria, pertusis
HPV - Human papilloma virus
Influenza - FluMist, a flu vaccine mist that is sprayed in the nose of healthy children
Rambo Memorial Health Clinic offers the following vaccines to adults:
Zostavax - Shingles vaccine which requires a physician's order and pre-payment of $175 for the vaccine.
Boostrix Tetanus, Diptheria, Acellular Pertusis (Tdap). Available for $38 and does not require a doctor' order. (Charge is for both in county and out of county residents).
Urinalysis screening is done during regular clinic hours and does not require a doctor's order. One of the clinic's professionals will review the test results with an individual, and forward the test results to their primary care physician.
at a cost of $25 for all patients. Calling ahead for an appointment is strongly encouraged. A 12-hour fasting period prior to testing is recommended to ensure accuracy of your testing. Cholesterol screening measures the following:
- Total Cholesterol
- HDL (good cholesterol)
- LDL (bad cholesterol)
- The Framingham Heart Study is used to calculate the ratio of your risk for heart disease
Our nursing staff will explain your test results and provide you with American Heart Association approved lists of foods to help bring your cholesterol numbers in line with current AMA recommendations. We will fax or mail your cholesterol results to your physician at your request.
ALT/ALT SCREENING is provided by at a cost of $25 for all patients. This test does require a doctor's order and we strongly encourage calling ahead to schedule an appointment.
HEMOGLOBIN A1C SCREENING
Hemoglobin A1c testing is provided at a cost of $20 for all patients. Calling ahead for an appointment is strongly encouraged. Hemoglobin A1c screening monitors the average blood glucose levels over the last 3 months for those with a diagnosis of diabetes. It is an indicator of overall blood glucose control.Fasting is not necessary.
BLOOD GLUCOSE (BLOOD SUGAR) SCREENING
Blood Glucose Screening is provided by in the clinic during our regular business hours, on a walk-in basis.
A 2-4 hour fast is required to perform the blood sugar screening. There is NO CHARGE at this time for this service.
BLOOD GLUCOSE METERS
Rambo Memorial Health Center will provide glucometers at no cost to Muskingum County residents who qualify financially, or have no insurance.
Strips and meters may also be provided by drug companies if you meet their program needs
